At first, we tried to be logical.

Maybe it came from the drain.
Maybe it was some kind of mold.
Maybe it fell from the ceiling?

But the longer we stared at it, the less confident we became.

Our guesses got more creative—and slightly more ridiculous. A plant fragment? Packaging residue? Something from inside the walls?
